The causes of the Great Depression

As well as the Wall Street Crash, other economics problems contributed to lead the country to the Great Depression: under-consumption, over-production in industry, falling incomes of farmers, failing banks and problems in Europe.

The Roosevelt’s administration built a remarkable collection of more than 80,000 photographs of America during the Depression because the Federal agencies hired great photographers. Throughout the years, each new generation has been exposed to the photographs of this collection. That is in part due to the quality of the work, but it is also because the entire collection is available to publishers’ copyright free.
